P. 3

Introduction

As Georgetown Preparatory School moves through its third century with an unwavering
commitment to its Catholic, Jesuit mission, we strive to enhance the legacy that has been passed
on to us from St. Ignatius Loyola, Archbishop John Carroll and generations who have preceded
us. The Strategic Plan elucidated here, as directed by the Board of Trustees, envisions sustaining
Georgetown Prep’s stature as a leader in the independent school community while reinvigorating
the mission and continuing to champion a robust tradition. Connecting our past to our future,
our accomplishments to our potential, this ambitious Strategic Plan establishes priorities and
proposes initiatives for the next seven years for the school.

To ensure that the Strategic Plan can be owned and implemented by the school community, all of
the school's constituencies were consulted in the development of these goals and priorities.

In addition to an initial electronic survey, Georgetown Prep hosted Strategic Plan focus groups
with the School's alumni and parents. The School's faculty and staff met in the fall of 2014 to
discuss the nature of the Strategic Pillars developed by the Board of Trustees and provided sound
advice.

We were fortunate to receive valuable feedback from all stakeholders. Members of the School's
faculty, staff, and administration were asked to serve on committees to draft goals and introduce
possible initiatives under each Strategic Pillar. Those draft goals and initiatives were distributed
to all members of the faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees and all were asked to respond.

The Strategic Plan ultimately seeks to advance a vibrant, sustainable Ignatian apostolate that
practices cura personalis and strives for excellence. It also seeks to continue doing what Prep does
best: provide a rigorous and balanced high school experience in the context of a caring, faithful
community.

All those who helped develop this plan deserve our utmost gratitude, as do those who will
implement it, including Georgetown Prep's outstanding faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni
and Board of Trustees.
