The KITU story began in a college dorm
room when Jordan DeCicco, a college
student-athlete at Philadelphia University,
needed a beverage that would wake him
up for his early-morning workouts, keep
him awake through a full day of classes and
studying, and maintain his energy for evening
practices and games. But when he tried the
bottled coffee drinks available at the campus
store, their high sugar and nonexistent
nutrition were not giving him the lasting
energy he was looking for. He knew that he
could do better.
